Student Summer Research Symposium
Each summer, the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology's Baker Lab trains high school students who participate in a summer research project where they not only engage in research, but also perform public outreach in the community. Alexis Cavallaro and Paula Pereira will be joined by high school and community college students from UC Davis' Partnership for Plant Genomics Education, the Bay Area Biotechnology Education Consortium Monday, August 8th for the first annual Student Summer Research Symposium hosted at the University of California Botanical Garden. We invite you to join these students for poster sessions, presentations and garden tours as they inform each other about research being accomplished by other inspiring young scientists, and exhibit their research to parents, teachers and members of the community. Please see the "2005 Summer Symposium" flier in the resources section of the Center for Plant Genomics Training and Edcuation website for more details.
